History

W.D. Morgan graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 1904 with a degree in General Engineering and located in Ladysmith, Wisconsin shortly thereafter. One of his many enterprises was the formation of a general construction company specializing in municipal sewer and water installations. Mr. Morgan also served as an engineer and surveyor on many projects throughout the area. During the late 1930s the company was known as W.D. Morgan & Son, when George H. Morgan was made a partner. During the WWII period, the company specialized in installation of communication cable throughout the United States for the Federal government.

Following W.D.’s retirement in the mid-1950s, George became City Engineer for the City of Ladysmith and subsequently in 1959 formed Geo. H. Morgan, P.E. & Associates, who provided consulting engineering services for various municipalities.

In 1963, Robert O. Parmley became an associate and in 1976 Mr. Morgan and Mr. Parmley co-founded Morgan & Parmley, Ltd. The firm has operated under this name since that point in time.  Robert is now retired but still helps out as a consultant.

Morgan & Parmley, Ltd. and its predecessor have successfully provided continuing engineering services to a wide range of clients for many decades. The firm offers both civil and mechanical engineering services to municipalities and industrial organizations, as well as private individuals. The scope of practice is all encompassing, with the majority of its efforts geared to serving municipalities.
